CAM4 Performer Interview: Wes Myers
You’ve probably seen him on Twitter, he’s one of our most popular camboys, and he’s ready to bare all! This week, we interviewed CAM4 superstar and YNOT nominee, WesMyers! 1. Tell us about yourself
My name is Wes Myers, and I love being a webcam performer. I have always been interested in the Adult Industry, it’s a world I wanted to be part of since I was old enough to legally watch.
When I first started, I didn’t really take camming that seriously. I mostly would just log on, and sit there with my dick out. It got very discouraging, because I didn’t have a clue what I was doing or how to make money.
It was’t until I started working for CAM4, where I realized that there is SO much more to being a webcam performer. Every guy has a dick, but it’s the personality and interaction with the viewers that will make you successful.
2. How did you choose the name Wes Myers?
Well I am really big horror fan, and an even bigger SCREAM fan. So I took Wes from my favourite director Wes Craven, and Myers from the horror icon Michael Myers.
3. You have an active following online… between Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat, how important is branding yourself on social media platforms as a performer ?
When someone becomes a webcam performer, I always tell them that they need to make a Twitter with their cam name. The reason I suggest Twitter first, is because it’s the only platform that allows you to post sexually explicit material. It also allows the performers to interact and network with fellow models. It’s a great way to get to know your peers and to introduce yourself to potential viewers.
Basically you need to think of it as your business card. Anyone who wants to work with you or spend money on you, will be able to get a preview of what you can offer.
Of course, not everyone has twitter. So it’s still good to have other platforms as well. Once you get more into it and have a bit of a following, I would suggest making a premium snapchat where people can subscribe to it.
4. You have recently been nominated for the YNOT 2018 Male Cam Model Of The Year award , if you win who would you thank and are there any other awards you hope to be nominated for in the future ?
I am still in shock that I was nominated, and extremely grateful for everyone who voted to get me there. If I were to win, I would obviously start by thanks my fans and everyone who voted. Without them, It wouldn’t even be possible. I would also thank CAM4 for giving me a way to communicate and interact with my fans. I would also thank all the people at YNOT for hosting the awards, and allowing the people of the cam community to shine.
I would love to be nominated for a Grabby, GayVN, XBIZ, and Cybersocket award. Ambitious I know lol But hey, I never thought i’d be nominated for something like this so who knows.
5. If you could work with any other cam performers / or studio pornstars who would you want to work with?
This is a very hard question. There a lot of talented performers out there and I would be honoured to be able to work with any of them.
If I had to choose. I have always admired Jaden Storm, and I followed his career for a very long time. When I met him in Miami at the XBIZ Webcam Awards, I was star struck. I even got to interview him, so that was amazing. I would love to work with him. I have always wanted to be in a cam house, and his was one of the first I saw when he was running Voyeur Boys.
As for studio Porn Stars, we’d be here all day if I had to answer this one.
6. Since having experience behind the scenes and now in front of the camera, what are 3 things you would tell someone who is new to camming ?
First thing, make sure that it’s something that you really want to do and that you enjoy doing it. If you are just 100% in it for the money, and you’re not into it the viewers will notice, and they won’t feel that connection with you as a performer. Once you start posting photos, and video, and putting yourself out there there’s no turning back, because in this day and age everything stays on the internet. So there is a huge risk that someone you know might see you, but if you don’t care then neither should they.
Secondly, treat it like any other job that you have. Make a schedule and set your hours. This will give your viewers a chance to know when you’re going to be on so they can join you. Don’t make promises to your viewers that you can’t keep. Just like a customer at a store, if you can’t do some…DON’T DO IT. Word travels fast, and this case bad press is BAD PRESS. You don’t want to be known as the performer who goes back on their word.
The last thing I will say is DON’T GET DISCOURAGED. It’s very unlikely that you will make bank during your first few broadcasts. So take that time to get to know your viewers, and build your fanbase/brand. The tips will come, you just have to be patient.
7. What has been your wildest sexual encounter?
I would have to say my most wild sexual encounter was YEARS ago when I out at a club for my 21st birthday. There was an event called the Dirty Sexy Party, and one of my favourite porn stars (at the time) was there. He called me onto the stage and I was so excited, especially when he grabbed my hands and rubbed them all over his body. The crowd was cheering and that definitely got me going. So I took a chance and got on my knees, he pulled out his dick and I started sucking it. What was really nice though, is that he took my hat off and hid my face because people were taking photos and videos. I definitely had never done anything like that before, but I CAN say that I would do it again 😉
8. What is the strangest request you have had from viewer?
I wouldn’t say it’s a strange request, but it’s definitely something I haven’t done before. I was doing a show, and a viewer came into the room and said that he was with his wife. He told me that they were both enjoying my show and that he wanted me to fuck her while he watched. Since we are obviously not in the same country, he sent me naked photos of her and asked me to jerk off while looking at them. Once he got me to goal, they wanted me to cum on her picture. It was a BLAST !
9. Where do you see yourself a year from now? Will you still be camming?
Definitely! I hopefully see myself working with a studio to produce main stream films. I have always loved porn, and I would love to continue my journey in the industry. Even if it’s behind the scenes. Writing, Directing, producing! I would love to do it all.
