CAM4 At The NYC AIDS Walk 2017 Featuring Kathy Griffin

CAM4 At The NYC AIDS Walk 2017 Featuring Kathy Griffin

On May 21, 2017, we joined the initiative to help raise awareness and support the nation’s leading provider of HIV/AIDS care, Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC). As a community that supports sexual openness, freedom and equality, CAM4 attended the event to  support and uplift those affected by the disease.

I have never seen so many people come together to support one another as I saw on that day. It was truly an inspirational experience to watch as people walked to support the fight against the cause.

We wanted to be there to show our support because CAM4 has one of the largest gay communities in the world, and we want to show them that we do care and we are here to help.

The walk started with opening speeches from celebrities, supporters, founders, and people who are struggling with this life changing illness. We heard stories from strong men who refuse to let this disease stop them from living their life to the fullest.

Following the opening ceremony was the walk.  Seeing groups of people walking beside one another with a smile on their face chanting the names of the people they were walking for was truly inspiring. Strangers were conversing and sharing stories as they walked side by side to the finish line.

Once the walk was over, the fun didn’t stop there. All guests were invited to the post show which included musical performances by Darren Chris Band (Glee), and Shontelle (FOX’s Empire), followed by former Ru Pauls Drag Race contestants and hosted by Queer Eye For The Straight Guy’s Carson Kressley. The show wrapped up with a hilarious stand up skit by Kathy Griffin.

See below highlights of the event and what the supporters had to say.
